In Search of FREEZER MEAT is one of those books that immediately stands out because of how unapologetically honest it is. Hayes takes a topic most men avoid talking about, erectile dysfunction, and turns it into something deeper: a conversation about confidence, identity, and mental health. What makes this book powerful isn’t just the subject, but the way it’s delivered. Hayes writes in a raw, conversational style that feels less like reading a book and more like having a real, unfiltered talk with someone who’s been through it. There’s humor, there’s vulnerability, and there’s a surprising amount of insight into how closely masculinity, self-worth, and mental health are connected. The book works on multiple levels. On the surface, it’s a personal story about a man dealing with a very real physical issue. But underneath, it’s really about the psychological toll that comes with it, how it affects relationships, confidence, and even financial and personal decision-making. That broader perspective is what gives the book its impact. One of the most interesting aspects is Hayes’ willingness to discuss solutions that are rarely talked about openly. Whether readers agree with everything or not, the honesty is refreshing and forces a conversation that many people avoid. If there’s any critique, it’s that the tone can feel intense or blunt at times. But honestly, that’s also part of what makes the book memorable. It doesn’t try to be polished or politically perfect, it tries to be real. Overall: This is more than just a book about ED. It’s a bold, eye-opening look at male mental health and the pressures men deal with behind the scenes. Whether you’re reading it for personal insight or just curiosity, it’s a conversation starter and a perspective you don’t hear often.

Freezer Meat by Sharay Hayes is one of the most honest and refreshing books I’ve read on a topic many people are too afraid to discuss. Hayes approaches erectile dysfunction with raw truth, humor, and vulnerability, turning what could be an uncomfortable subject into a powerful conversation about healing, confidence, and self-acceptance. What makes this book stand out is how candidly he shares his own life experiences and the trauma he faced while dealing with erectile dysfunction. Instead of shame or silence, he offers insight, reassurance, and practical solutions. Reading it feels like having a real, judgment-free conversation with someone who truly understands. The book is not only informative but also empowering. It reminds readers that they are not alone and that challenges with sexual health do not define a man’s worth or masculinity. Hayes delivers encouragement with a mix of humor and wisdom that makes the message both relatable and uplifting. If more conversations about men’s health were as open and constructive as this book, many people would feel less isolated and more hopeful. Freezer Meat is brave, educational, and motivating—an important read for anyone looking to understand the emotional and psychological side of sexual health. Highly recommended.

I got the audiobook first and was surprised it was actually done by the author; which is rare! This may have also played a part in the humor and why the book was so hilarious. It’s hearing the joke in the voice it was meant to be heard, that added a different kind of flavor. It was so good, Some moments I forgot I was listening to an audiobook, and thought it was a podcast. So if you’re into podcasts, this may very well sound like an educational/entertaining storytelling version, with an autobiographical tone! Overall thoughts: It was quite entertaining to hear a male’s perspective on dealing with ED or just general anxiety with their manhood. I’m a psychotherapist by trade, and I hear these kinds of challenges come up very often for men. But We talk about the major ED scenarios (like being too intoxicated to perform), but never about the ongoing anxiety as a result of this kind of sporadic problem. While this book was really educational and entertaining for me, I think it’s the perfect book for someone really struggling with the vulnerability of ED, and the mental impact it has on their life. It was mind opening for me as a woman to understand the depth, and the degree to which men may go to remedy the situation. But I can imagine how life Changing this book may be if I were a man with this exact problem. Takeaways: If you’ve ever had ED or your manhood betray you… this is probably the most eye-opening, relatable book for you. If you’re a healthcare Provider, recommend this book to your male patients and tell them “this is a phase and you’re gonna be fine”.

Excellent read. This book is raw, direct, and unapologetic. It isn’t just about ED, it’s about mindset, confidence, and how men handle pressure in silence. It strips away surface-level conversation and gets to the core issue "how a man sees himself". What I appreciated most is that it doesn’t feel clinical or overly polished. It reads like real experience, shared honestly and without a filter.

This book explores and explains a sensitive topic, the intersection of male mental health and erectile dysfunction. Hayes candidly details his transition from a celebrity stripper to a man struggling with sexual performance anxiety and declining confidence. He argues that ED is often a mental health crisis rooted in societal pressures regarding masculinity, wealth, and sexual potency. Through personal anecdotes, including stories about his father’s rejuvenation, he advocates for penis implants as a transformative solution that provides a psychological reset.

As a woman, this book was such an amazing eye opener! I learned a tremendous amount about men, in general. Sharay Hayes kept me entertained with his sense of humor and sincerity. This is a must read for both men and women. It gave me a better understanding of the male psyche and their sexual struggles. Kudos to the author for breaking the ice and starting the conversation on the topic of Erectile Dysfunction and the solution!

This Isn't Just a Story About ED.

It's about what happens to a man when something he tied to his confidence, masculinity and identity suddenly stops working the way it used to.

Inside the audiobook, Sharay gets candid about:

  • Performance pressure and sexual confidence

  • Ego, shame and validation

  • Relationships and communication

  • Getting older and watching your body change

  • The mistakes he made trying to avoid the problem

  • What he learned after finally confronting it

He's Not a Doctor. He's the Guy Who Actually Lived Through It.

Sharay “The Punisher” Hayes spent decades building a life where sexual performance was a major part of his identity. When that confidence started disappearing, he learned firsthand that the problem could reach far beyond the bedroom.

This audiobook is his story—the mistakes, embarrassment, ego, relationships, lessons and eventual reset—told the way he'd tell it to another man who needed to hear it.

For nearly 30 years, Sharay “The Punisher” Hayes built a career where confidence, his body and sexual performance weren't just personal—they were part of his identity.

Then things changed.

As Sharay got older, he found himself dealing with erectile dysfunction and a reality he never expected. What started as a problem in the bedroom eventually followed him everywhere into his confidence, relationships, ego, self-worth and the way he saw himself as a man.

And he didn't handle everything perfectly.

He tried to work around it. He used medications. He dealt with injections. He hid things. He put enormous pressure on himself to perform. He struggled through relationship problems, embarrassment, anxiety and the private question a lot of men are afraid to admit they're asking:

“What the hell is happening to me?”

That's what makes Sharay different.

He Isn't Teaching From a Textbook. He's Talking From Experience.

Sharay has been the confident guy.

He's been the guy whose identity was wrapped up in his sexual performance.

And he's also been the guy wondering if that version of himself was gone for good.

His journey eventually led him to a penile implant—but In Search of Freezer Meat isn't simply the story of a procedure.

It's the story of everything that happened before, during and after: the mistakes, denial, ego, shame, relationships, treatments, difficult conversations, lessons and realization that what he thought was just a problem with his erection had affected much more of his life.

That's Why He Wrote This Book.

Not to diagnose you.

Not to pretend his solution has to be your solution.

And definitely not to talk down to you.

He wrote it to have the conversation he wishes more men were willing to have—and to let the guy going through it know he's not the only one.

This is Sharay's story. Unfiltered. Personal. Sometimes funny. Sometimes uncomfortable. And completely lived.

Maybe It's Not Just About Your Dick...

Maybe it's confidence. Pressure. Ego. Shame. Getting older. Or feeling like you're not quite the man you used to be.

Whatever brought you here, start with the story.
